چکیده
Abstract Background Although the relationship between allergic sensitization and increased respiratory symptoms of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) has been suggested, which allergen a significant effect on COPD pathology is unclear. This study aimed to identify specific IgE related clinical features diagnosis asthma-COPD overlap (ACO). Methods We recruited 76 patients with analyzed 39 using panel test (View Allergy ® ). ACO was diagnosed according Japanese Respiratory Society Guidelines. Results As for perennial aeroallergens, positivity moth (31.5%), Candida (23.7%), Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus (22.4%) house dust (22.4%), concerning pollen, cedar (35.5%) cypress (22.2%) exceeded 20%. Only significantly higher in compared that non-ACO COPD. Moreover, it contributed an class-dependent manner. Patients cockroach exhibited residual volume, whereas those better diffusion capacity than negative patients. The contribution by receiver operating characteristic curve analysis comparable among total (cutoff value: 158 IU/mL), blood eosinophil count (234/?L), fraction exhaled nitric oxide (31.0 ppb). Conclusions prominent role mite-specific potentially detrimental air trapping were suggested. finding highlights future development treatment targeting as treatable trait

Induction and regulation of allergen-specific IgE
The immune response is characterized by an initial rapid activation of the innate defence system, geared at recognizing common structures shared by many microorganisms. This innate immune response is a prerequisite to mount a highly antigenspecific adaptive immune response consisting of T-cell differentiation into effector subsets and B-cell differentiation into antibody-secreting plasma cells....
متن کاملEvaluation of serum s-IgE/total IgE ratio in predicting clinical response to allergen-specific immunotherapy.
BACKGROUND To date, no predictive tests for the clinical response to allergen-specific immunotherapy (ASI) are available. Therefore an in vivo or in vitro test would be of great value. OBJECTIVE We sought to evaluate pretreatment parameters used in diagnosing allergic rhinitis and determining serum specific IgE (s-IgE) levels, serum total IgE (t-IgE) levels, and blood eosinophil counts and to...
متن کاملSerum specific IgE: a biomarker of response to allergen immunotherapy.
BACKGROUND Allergen immunotherapy (AIT) has proven to be effective. However, no biomarkers capable of predicting the clinical response to AIT have been detected. The aim of the present study was to determine a cutoff value for serum specific IgE that could be associated with effective AIT. METHODS We evaluated 174 allergic patients (83 males) with ages ranging between 6 and 77 years. All pati...
متن کاملCan Serum-Specific IgE/Total IgE Ratio Predict Clinical Response to Allergen-Specific Immunotherapy in Children Monosensitized to House Dust Mite?
Background. Allergen-specific immunotherapy (SIT) is one of the important regimens for the treatment of allergic diseases. Predictive tests for the clinical response to SIT are limited. In this study we aimed to evaluate whether specific IgE/total IgE levels can predict clinical improvement in monosensitized patients to house dust mite treated with immunotherapy. Patients and Methods. We analyz...
